Robert (Rav) Ivker, DO, ABIHM
Holistic Family Physician, Health Educator, and Best-Selling Author
Dr. Robert (Rav) Ivker is a holistic and respiratory healer, family physician, cannabis clinician, health educator, and best-selling author of eight holistic healing books, most notably SINUS SURVIVAL: The Holistic Medical Treatment for Sinusitis, Allergies, and Colds, 4th edition, and Cannabis for Chronic Pain. He is a board-certified integrative holistic physician, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the co-founder and past-president of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM), and a past-president of the American Holistic Medical Association (AHMA).
Dr. Ivker began practicing Family Medicine in 1975 after graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completing a 3-year residency in Family Practice at Mercy Medical Center in Denver.. Since curing a 10-year bout of chronic sinusitis in 1987 using a holistic (body-mind-spirit) approach, his focus has been treating, preventing, and curing chronic disease by teaching patients exceptional self-care; and transforming health care by establishing Fully Alive Medicine (integrative holistic medicine) as the foundation for primary care in the 21st century, based on the core belief: love heals.
During the past 10 years in his Fully Alive Medicine practice in Boulder, CO, he has evaluated and treated more than 9000 chronic pain patients using medical marijuana to relieve their suffering. He also continues to work with challenging chronic and fungal sinusitis patients, in addition to asthmatics wanting to break their dependence on inhalers.
In 2021, he has launched the Fully Alive Breathe Easy (FABE) Program, an integrative holistic treatment program for creating and maintaining optimal health of the respiratory tract – nose, sinuses, and lungs. FABE is a synthesis and update of the Sinus Survival and Asthma Survival (Asthma Survival – published 2001, Penguin Putnam) Program. For the past 35 years this innovative holistic approach has proven to be highly effective for treating, preventing, and often curing the world’s three most common respiratory conditions – chronic sinusitis, asthma, and allergies. It has also resulted in significant improvement with patients suffering with chronic lung ailments such as chronic bronchitis, COPD, and bronchiectasis. The program is also effective for preventing and treating COVID-19.
His latest book, Cannabis for Chronic Pain (Simon & Schuster, Sept. 2017), is an introduction to the holistic sub-specialty of Cannabis Medicine. The book is focused on the application of medical marijuana for relieving chronic pain (both physical and emotional), and its use as a complement to a holistic treatment program for potentially curing the underlying condition causing the pain. With Cannabis for Chronic Pain, Dr. Ivker is helping to establish the standard of care for the safe and effective use of medical marijuana for treating chronic pain and offering a solution to the opioid crisis.
