A chronic illness is defined as a condition lasting longer than three months.  The word chronic has become a medical euphemism for incurable, although that word is rarely used by physicians.  Treatment typically consists of medication to temporarily relieve discomfort, often with the stated goal of management of symptoms (not cure), along with the dismal prognosis “you’ll have to live with it.  There’s nothing more that can be done.”

At FAM, we believe that with love, anything’s possible. The foundational belief of our practice is: unconditional love is life’s most powerful healer, and the perceived loss of love is our greatest health risk.  Regardless of the nature of the chronic dis-ease, whether it’s asthma, diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease, or chronic fatigue syndrome, we consistently see significant improvement, and often a cure.

Todd Nelson, Naturopath, has been working with patients dealing with chronic illness for nearly 40 years, and the vast majority has experienced successful treatment outcomes. He works with almost all of the FAM patients who are suffering with a chronic condition other than chronic pain or a respiratory illness.
